Shredded BBQ Beef Sandwiches

Shredded BBQ Beef Sandwiches

Fall is here, which means it’s crockpot season — the time of year for warm, hearty meals that make your home smell amazing all day long.

This week, we’re kicking off our Crockpot Recipe Series with a family favorite: Shredded BBQ Beef Sandwiches made with our Luebbering Shorthorn chuck or arm roast. It’s simple, comforting, and perfect for tailgates, busy weeknights, or slow Sundays at home.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

✔️ Set it and forget it — Toss everything in the crockpot and come home to tender, flavorful beef.
✔️ Family favorite — The kind of meal that disappears fast (especially when served on toasted buns).
✔️ Farm-fresh flavor — Made with locally raised Shorthorn beef from right here on our Missouri farm.
✔️ Perfect for leftovers — The shredded beef reheats beautifully for sandwiches, nachos, or wraps later in the week.

Shredded BBQ Beef Sandwiches

Ingredients:

  • 3–4 lbs Luebbering Shorthorn chuck roast or arm roast
  • 1 bottle (18 oz) BBQ sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Place the sliced onions in the bottom of your crockpot.
  2. Season the beef roast with salt and pepper, then place it on top of the onions.
  3. Pour BBQ sauce, beef broth, and Worcestershire over the roast.
  4. Cover and cook on Low for 8–10 hours or High for 5–6 hours, until the beef is fork-tender.
  5. Shred the beef with two forks, mix it back into the sauce, and serve on buns with extra BBQ sauce or coleslaw.

📥 Tip: Double the batch and freeze half — it makes an easy weeknight dinner later in the month.
